“Alone a youth runs fast, with an elder slow, but together they go far.”
- Luo Tribe of Africa
Education without Oppression was formed to serve the minoritized, marginalized, and dispossessed students and their families who are experiencing or have experienced racialized trauma at the hands of the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). We have since branched out to support students and their families in all school districts throughout Colorado.
Together, we can make an impact that helps all of our children have healthy, just, and loving academic experiences. By working together to ensure that public school districts - including their staff, administrators, policies, and overall design - not only house our children, but affirm, nourish, celebrate, and challenge them to be the brilliant humans they are meant to be. To do that, we are committed to making schools acknowledge the harm upon which their foundation was built and to working diligently to change policies, procedures, and rules so that our children’s fights are different from the fights we have today.
So, welcome to Education without Oppression. We hope that you came here to dream, co-create, and support our cause. If you are a parent whose child was harmed by a school, either through its policies and/or practices, teachers and/or administrators, and/or from their peers/classmates, you have come to the right place.

Education without Oppression is designed to offer community, advocacy, activism, and support for Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian, and other diverse bodies experiencing racism, discrimination, retaliation, and bullying in public schools.
Our children deserve opportunities and access to learning that is free from trauma, oppression, and harassment. As parents and guardians, we have the right to know and ensure that the people who are supposed to enrich and support our children’s learning, aren’t weaponizing their race, language, and cultures - making schools a place of violence and harm. We deserve to be supported in our activism without retaliation and threats.
