Public School is a Right.

But as we know, sometimes those rights are eroded by antiquated policies, practices, ideas, people and beliefs. This page is a resource to support your children’s academic journey. We offer a Racism in Schools Form if you have incidents that you would like to share o help create transparency and accountability while empowering families to make informed decisions about their children’s education and staff they may encounter. The information you share will be used to create a school & staff Report Card that will be shared with the public via this site once the data starts coming in. How well is your children’s school rated?

We also offer resources that can help you navigate the school system.

Take a Stand.

  • Navigating Public Schools.

Public school system is supposed to be a place of learning, not of trauma. Lets work together to create better experiences, and outcomes for our children.

  • Self Reporting Portal.

Several years ago we (Jamillah Richmond and the then families Latino Parent Council of BVSD) asked the district to create a transparency metric that would allow parents and guardians to make informed choices about which schools their children attended and which instructors and staff were safe. They declined. Education without Oppression is now offering you this tool as a resource, guide to disrupt and dismantle the freedoms adults in BVSD have to inflict harm on children in their custody.

“To suppress free speech is a double wrong. It violates the rights of the hearer as well as those of the speaker.”
